You will support both students and teachers in a school located in Stockport, Ofsted rated ‘Good’, this is a great opportunity to provide assistance in a positive learning environment, where students are well behaved and enthusiastic to learn. Pay for this role ranges from £350 - £400 depending on your previous experience.

Support for students includes:

  • Assisting and helping incorporate SEN students into the general school population.
  • Ensuring students feel included and inspired to learn, in turn improving their attendance and attitude.
  • Encouraging students to engage and socialise with others.
  • Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students.
  • Making sure students are absorbing and retaining what is being taught.
  • Identifying what SEM students’ needs are and ensure they are met.

Support for teachers includes:

  • Managing the students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Developing resources for the students you work with.
  • Managing the behaviour of students.
  • Providing feedback about students to the relevant staff.
  • Liaising with pastoral staff including the Safeguarding and Mental Health Lead.

The roles you will be asked to perform include:

  • To provide feedback to students in relation to progress and achievement.
  • To be responsible for keeping and updating records as agreed with the teacher.
  • To implement learning activities, adjusting activities according to student needs.
  • To support learning activities and develop students’ competence and independence.
  • To help students to access learning activities through specialist support.
  • To encourage students to interact with others and engage all students in activities.
  • To support difference and ensure all students have opportunities to learn and develop.
  • To provide differentiated support for students in mainstream lessons
  • To carry out any other duties as directed by the SENCO.
  • To mentor identified KS3/KS4 SEN students.

When commuting to school the methods are relatively easy. The school is situated 3 minutes away from a train station, 8 minutes from the closest bus stop and just 20 minutes away from Manchester City Centre.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
