Challenging Behaviour Teaching Assistant - Key Stage 3/4

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a specialist school in Middlesbrough to recruit a Teaching Assistant on a full time basis for the new academic year in September. The role will be held for a minimum of the first term and there is strong potential for a permanent contract after the initial term placement for the right candidate.

The position will involve working with a small group of students across Key Stages 3 and 4 with varying Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties. This school caters specifically for young people with challenging backgrounds and behaviours and has an extremely nurturing environment. The candidate will need to be confident in managing challenging behaviour as well as being enthusiastic and a positive role model for the students! You will play a large role in the monitoring of students progress and development both in terms of their academic and personal achievements in and out of the classroom.

Ideally for this role, you will have a teaching assistant qualification however this is not mandatory and we welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds including social and youth work. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced special needs teachers as well as specialist teaching assistants for challenging behaviour.
