Are you in search of a new and exciting position for September 2019? Are you in search of a job to which you can apply your experience and a commitment to making a difference in school? If so, then you may be in luck!

A central Blackburn primary school are looking to appoint a full-time, temporary Teaching Assistant for the autumn term, with the possibility of extending to the full academic year.

The deputy head teacher will be the main point of contact and has requested the following:

  • Level 2 or higher Teaching Assistant
  • Experience working alongside children with special educational needs on a 1:1 basis
  • Hard working and committed to providing an inclusive learning experience
  • Excellent communication skills

The popular school is located in central Blackburn and almost all children are from ethnic minority groups and speak English as an additional language. Behaviour is good as the school strive to develop confident, caring citizens who are well prepared to enjoy happy and rewarding lives. They aim to support their pupils in becoming independent individuals who reach their potential and are proud of their achievements. Accordingly, they hope to take on someone who shares this aspiration for their pupils.

The deputy head teacher is eager to have a consistent member of staff for this pupil, so commitment to working in the school long-term is essential. Since the school began recruiting through our agency, two years ago, there have been many successful temporary positions filled and feedback has included welcoming and supportive staff members and senior leaders.

The vacancy is to provide 1:1 support to a child with a hearing impairment and communication difficulties in the classroom and outdoors. BSL (British Sign Language) or Sign Along experience is not essential; however, the school have noted having experience in upper key stage 2, supporting children with social and communication difficulties, would be beneficial. You would be working 8:30 - 2:45 week commencing 1st September.

If this sounds like a role that would be suitable for you, please contact Teaching Personnel Lancashire.
