Business Studies and ICT Teacher- Dewsbury
Date posted: 13 Jan 2021
Start date: Easter 2021
Contract type: Full Time
Salary: MPS/UPS
Suitable for NQTs: Yes
We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of ICT / Business with responsibility for Key Stage 3 ICT, KS4 Computing and a Key Stage Four vocational course in a Secondary School in Dewsbury
The successful candidate will be required to teach Business and vocational ICT up to KS4 (GCSE / Level 2).
We require a teacher who can build excellent relationships with students and staff. We are also seeking to appoint somebody with a good sense of humour and who enjoys working in a team. These are hugely important qualities in terms of collaborative working, but also in getting the very best out of our students. The candidate should also have experience of developing strategies to improve outcomes in ICT / Business
A strong commitment to the extra-curricular life of the school is essential.
Subject knowledge is important, as is an up-to-date knowledge of the latest strategies in ICT /Business. The successful candidate will thoroughly enjoy teaching their subject.
In return, the School can offer an outstanding learning environment, working with students who are typically above national average attainment at start point in Year 7. The Business Studies and ICT / Computing departments can offer five Level 2 qualifications (GCSE Business Studies, BTEC Business Studies, Economics, VCert Creative I-Media and GCSE Computing).
Uptake in these subjects is very strong at this particular Secondary School. Also, the school has recently been inspected by Ofsted under the New Framework. The school has retained its good judgement and that included strong praise for the Quality of Education.
The staff body is very experienced and they have a highly committed team who always ‘go the extra mile’ for the school and community. All staff are expected to contribute to the development of new resources and to work collaboratively with others. They also offer excellent professional development opportunities and a wide range of facilities.
Standards of behaviour are excellent. They achieve this because of a very strong team work ethic in pastoral management, but also they do not tolerate poor choices without proportionate consequences. As a new member of staff, you will find the school to be an extremely welcoming environment to teach in.
If this exciting new opportunity sounds like a role you would be interested in then please contact Jenna on 0113 2240232 or email jenna.hall@teachingpersonnel.com with a current CV, and I will be in contact shortly on review of application
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training.
