Job description

Teaching Personnel are excited to recruit a Teaching Assistant for a school in Enfield to start in September. The school are looking for someone to provide support for a new girl joining their Reception class, who was born with a hearing impairment. You will be working one to one to support this student and assist her with communication with staff and peers, so a background in British Sign Language (BSL) is essential (either experience or Level 1 certificate minimum). The role will be full-time and, provided you get on well with the child, will run for the full academic year with potential to become a permanent member of staff.

The school works particularly hard on its extended curriculum, making sure they can engage with the different needs and interests of their pupils. There are a number of opportunities and experiences made available with over 40 after-school and lunch-time clubs on offer. Activities include street dancing, athletics and mathematics club.

  • BSL Experience (Level 1 qualification or equivalent experience)
  • Experience working with children in EYFS or KS1
