BSL lvl 2/3 worker needed in Leeds LS16 for year long role ASAP

Due to last minute changes, I am in need of a Teaching Assistant with a BSL lvl 2/3 qualification ASAP. If you are looking for a fantastic opportunity in the LS16 area of Leeds, this is it? We are currently working with a "Good" rated OFSTED school in the Leeds area. In this BSL role you will use a total communication approach combining lip-reading, use of residual hearing and sign supported English (SSE). A BSL communication support worker helps pupils with a range of hearing losses are helped to develop language skills, to make progress in their social and emotional development and to have confidence to learn.

My client is a thriving, all ability, multi-cultural school with 1500 students, aged 11-18. With an increase in Year 7 intake, my client now has waiting lists for every year group. My client combines the benefits of a large school, with its many opportunities to study a wide range of subjects, with a friendly environment which is socially and culturally diverse. Despite the schools size, the expertise of student care ensures that each student is cared for as an individual. All staff work tirelessly to create the environment where our students are safe, secure and happy.

We are looking for teaching assistants that are confident and capable in using British Sign Language. The successful applicant will;

  • Hold a BSL certification lvl 2, working towards a 3 as a bare minimum
  • Be resilient when facing emotional difficulties
  • Willingly play a part in school life continuing the positive imprint the schools makes.
  • Hold a current DBS and be on the UPDATE SERVICE.
