About the Job:

This primary school in Ealing are seeking British Sign Language level 2 or above qualified teaching assistants confident supporting children in the school’s Hearing Impairment Provision (HIP). They are looking for someone who is confident in their signing and can inspire confidence in pupils with HI, parents and staff. There are up to 3 British Sign Language full-time teaching assistant positions available with two to three new pupils due to start in the HIP in September 2020.  

You will be a valued part of the hearing impairment provision team who work together closely to provide a safe and engaging educational environment for children. You will work alongside the class teacher and up to 3 other BSL teaching assistants. You will be supporting children 1:1 with their learning programmes and will be expected to support pupils in the HIP and in integrated lessons in mainstream classes.

 

About the Primary School (Ealing):

This primary school is based in Northolt in the London Borough of Ealing for pupils aged 3 – 11 years old and has been ranked as ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in their last inspection. The school have been praised for their outstanding pupil progress and outcomes, parent and guardian support and effective school leadership.

The school additionally has a Hearing Impairment Provision for children with hearing impairment who are taught and supported by specialist British Sign Language trained staff.

This primary school are seeking a professional who is:

  • Qualified with British Sign Language Level 2 or above (documentation required)
  • Experienced and/or confidence signing for children with hearing impairments on a 1:1 or small group basis
  • Confident supporting children with academic learning in class
  • Available full-time in September 2020
  • Living in Ealing or local to the borough
