Behavioural Support Worker needed in LS5
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
This Primary School based in LS5 is a friendly, vibrant school, which, in July 2016 was again judged by OFSTED as a GOOD school.
We are seeking someone to join our incredible Pastoral Team who provide support to our whole school community in many different forms. Working across our whole school with children from the ages of 4-11, your duties will not be fixed but varied each week to suit the needs of our school community.
There will be opportunities to work within the usual classroom environment with all pupils as well as on bespoke planned programmes of work with small groups of children or on a 1:1 basis. Predominately your focus will be spent supporting pupils across school with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties who at times can display challenging behaviour and need support to access learning and develop their social skills.
We pride ourselves in really knowing our children in school. We take the time to understand what matters to them and how each one is different and unique. Therefore it is crucial that you have the ability to look beyond the behaviours that a child may exhibit and see the child.
You will also have skills that enable you to effectively communicate and build relationships with our children's parents and families.
