- Teaching Assistant – PRU Setting (Full-Time)
- Location: Blandford Forum
- Start Date: ASAP (subject to vetting)
- Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday (until end of academic year, with potential to continue)
Teaching Personnel are an education-based agency supporting schools across the UK with the recruitment of teachers and teaching assistants.
We are currently working closely with SEN schools in Blandford Forum and are seeking experienced Teaching Assistants to support within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU). This is a full-time role, ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and making a meaningful impact.
About the Role:
You will be working with students who may present social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as challenging behaviour. The role requires patience, resilience, and the ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting with the delivery of tailored learning activities
- Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour
- Creating a safe and supportive learning environment
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience working in SEN, PRU, or similar settings
- Strong behaviour management skills
- A calm, consistent, and adaptable approach
- A genuine passion for supporting young people

This role is to start as soon as possible (subject to vetting) and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the potential to extend into the new academic year.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
