Behaviour Teaching assistant - Dagenham

We are looking to recruit an experienced teaching assistant to work in a special school in Dagenham area. This will be working within a KS4 class supporting pupils who have emotional and behavioural difficulties, most of whom have been excluded from mainstream setting or referred from the local education authority. This is a challenging, rewarding role, ideal for anyone who is resilient, has worked within a PRU setting or has transferable skills working challenging behaviour needs, as well a passion to make a difference to hard to reach young individual. There is the potential for a permanent contract after an extended probation period, as well as ongoing CPD training provided. These are delivered by an experienced senior leadership team with access to Safeguarding and accredited Team Teach training to support with professional development whilst in the role.

KS4 Behaviour teaching assistant:

• Must have previous experience of working with pupils with challenging behaviour needs at least 6 months in either PRU , alternative provision or youth work
• Transferable skills from sports coaches , mental health or secure units and residential homes
• Good behaviour management skills ; able to deal with behaviours such as verbal or physical aggression
• Need to have a good sense of humour!
• Confident to provide 1:1 support when required
• Able to commit to Monday - Friday 8.15am -4.00 pm during school term time
• Immediate start
