Do you have previous experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviour? Are you available full time and wish to secure a position supporting students with challenging behaviour within a mainstream secondary school?

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a large mixed comprehensive secondary Academy near to the Walshaw area of Bury. Due to an increase in the number of pupils who require additional support this academic year, the school wish to expand their support team with the incorporation of a full-time Behaviour Support Assistant.

Behaviour Support Assistant - the position

- Full-time Behaviour Support Assistant required, immediate start.

- Initially offered on a temporary basis for one term, with the opportunity to secure a permanent post following the initial period.

- Working alongside identified pupils on a 1:1 basis, both inside the classroom and during recreational periods.

- Recording progress and implementing strategic behaviour policies.

- Reporting back to the Inclusion Manager and SEN Co-Ordinator.

- Earn up to £75 per day depending upon previous experience.

The school are accepting applications from experienced Behaviour specialists, Graduates with previous experience supporting young people who display challenging behaviour and Youth Workers. In order to be considered, previous experience with challenging behaviour is essential.

"Our school is an inclusive environment where we strive to ensure that all pupils have the tools necessary to excel in education. We are seeking to bolster our support team this academic year to enable our students to gain support at every level. We wish to appoint a confident, experienced role model who can provide care and guidance to our identified pupils. Due to the nature of this position, we wish to interview applicants at the earliest convenience." SEN Co-Ordinator.

With slightly over 1000 pupils on role, this larger than average secondary Academy has been praised for achieving grades that are above the national average across some pupils at GCSE level. It has also been noted that all pupils have the opportunity to access after school clubs, extra-curricular cookery and life skills classes to provide pupils will skills that they may require at home.

Located towards the north of Bury town centre, our partner secondary Academy can be accessed via the M66, along with the M60 providing a direct route from many neighbouring areas. For non-drivers, there are an abundance of public transportation links that lead to the school from Bolton, Rochdale and central Manchester.
