A primary school near Central Leeds are looking for a sporty TA to occupy a Behaviour Support role across their KS2 classes for 4 days a week until Christmas 2020. This role is ideal for anyone with experience in supporting behaviour and has a passion for sports/coaching.
The school have a number of boys across Years 4-6 who often exhibit challenging behaviour, which will not be helped by such a long break from school. Therefore, in order to manage the return to school the SLT have identified that someone with experience in dealing with challenging children is needed to provide extra support, initially for the first term of next year. This role will require someone who can work flexibly across years 4, 5 and 6 depending on where the need lies. Of course portions of this role will be similar to conventional TA work, focussing closely on these children to make sure they are concentrating and behaving in class. Experience of supporting challenging behaviour, in any capacity, is therefore essential as the school need someone who won’t be phased by tackling bad behaviour in the upper KS2 age range.
The other aspect of this role requires someone who is passionate about sport or PE, as these boys are all passionate about sport themselves and this would be the ideal outlet for children who will not be used to extended time spent in the classroom. For this reason, the school want someone who when needed can take the children out and deliver engaging and enjoyable sports sessions when time in class isn’t feasible, as this will mean the children are able to concentrate more effectively in class and enjoy school more in general. Any background in coaching, PE, or sport would go a long way for the Head in reassuring them that they will be able to effectively reintegrate these children into school life.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
