Behaviour Support Assistant Position in Everton (L5)
An exciting opportunity awaits at a well-regarded primary school in Everton (L5). The school is seeking a dedicated Specialist Support Assistant to join their KS1 department from April Initially. The position will be temporary, but based on a successful probation period, the Head Teacher intends to offer a permanent contract in the upcoming academic year.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will play a vital part in assisting children who are facing behavioural and emotional challenges after their return to full-time education. Working closely with the students on a one-to-one or small group basis, your objective will be to help them reintegrate smoothly into the school and classroom environment. Collaboration with the Class Teacher, school SENCo, and parents will be essential to identify and implement effective strategies tailored to each individual child's needs.

The dedicated SENCo ensures that all students receive the appropriate support both inside and outside the classroom, and you will be part of this supportive environment. The school boasts a positive behaviour culture, with students coming from supportive backgrounds. They utilize a range of strategies, including positive reinforcement techniques and praise, to manage behaviour effectively. The school receives substantial funding for children with special educational needs and Pupil Premium, allowing them to allocate resources to support specific children and demonstrate commendable progress.
The Head Teacher:
With a highly regarded reputation in the local community, the Head Teacher has been leading the school for over five years. The positive atmosphere throughout the school, from Early Years to Year 6, has resulted in contented students who enjoy their school life. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will benefit from support from your line manager and access to various professional development opportunities. The school values upskilling their staff and ensuring they stay informed about the latest changes in the curriculum and behaviour management techniques.
