Teaching Personnel have been approached to source a dedicated behavioural support assistant to support a child with ASD. Owing to the current situation, children are experiencing prolonged periods of absence from the classroom. This is not only presenting gaps in learning, but also accentuating social and behavioural challenges. Owing to such, this school are looking to increase additional support in time for the reopening of schools in late February. The child who requires the support is currently in the Year 3 class and requires additional support for social development and to increase confidence within the classroom and when interacting with peers. By the end of the academic year the Head Teacher would like the child to be working within the classroom environment full-time with the continued 1:1 support in place.

The Head Teacher is looking for an individual who can come into school and build a strong working relationship with the child as well as the teaching staff in school. It is a necessity, if you wish to apply, that you have experience working in an education or care setting, supporting children or young adults with Autism, or associated behavioural needs. It is preferable that you have undergone professional development to support your experiences (courses such as; Autism Awareness and Team Teach) this is not a necessity as there will be opportunities to complete this with Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
