Behaviour Support Assistant – Secondary School – Glossop – September Start

Position: Behaviour Support Assistant
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, term-time only
Pay: £89 - £100 per day (depending on experience)
Teaching Personnel is working closely with a secondary school in Glossop to appoint a Behaviour Support Assistant to start in September 2025. This is a rewarding role, supporting students who may display challenging behaviours or require additional pastoral support to succeed in school.
Role Overview:
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work with individuals and small groups of students to help them manage their behaviour, re-engage with learning, and access the curriculum. You’ll support the school’s behaviour and inclusion team, working closely with teaching staff and senior leaders.
Key Responsibilities:

Support students in regulating their behaviour and making positive choices

Provide 1:1 and small group intervention sessions
-
Help maintain a calm and purposeful learning environment
-
Work closely with the pastoral team, SENCO, and external agencies where needed

Record and report on student progress and behaviour incidents
Candidate Requirements:
-
Previous experience supporting young people with behavioural or emotional needs
-
Strong interpersonal skills, with a calm and consistent approach
-
Ability to build positive relationships and set firm but fair boundaries
-
A resilient, empathetic and proactive attitude
-
Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
