Job Opportunity: Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) – Longdendale High School, Glossop
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Longdendale High School, Glossop
Pay: Starting at £13.75 per hour (dependent on experience)

Longdendale High School is seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you will work closely with individual students who need additional support to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Your work will be instrumental in helping these students reconnect with their education and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored 1:1 support for students who require help to re-engage with learning.

Work closely with teaching staff to plan and deliver individualised support strategies.

Support the emotional wellbeing and personal development of students.

Assist in monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate records.

Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
About You:
-
Experience working with young people, particularly in an educational or pastoral setting, is desirable.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Patient, empathetic, and able to build positive relationships with students.
-
A team player with a flexible and proactive approach to supporting student needs.

Relevant qualifications or willingness to undertake training.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
