Behaviour Support Assistant – Didsbury (M20)

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a reputable SEMH secondary provision located in Didsbury (M20), dedicated to providing high-quality education and support to students with SEMH needs. This team is committed to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student can achieve their full potential.

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEMH needs to overcome challenges and succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs
  • Assisting teachers in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive learning environments
  • Implementing individualised behaviour plans and interventions
  • Building rapport and fostering positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers
  • Collaborating with the SENCO and other professionals to ensure the holistic support of students

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young people with SEMH needs is desirable
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and external professionals
  • Resilience, patience, and empathy when working with challenging behaviour
  • A positive attitude and a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people
  • Willingness to undergo relevant training and development opportunities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
