Teaching Personnel are currently seeking Teaching Assistants in the Devizes area to work in a specialist school, catering for pupils with complex needs. The needs of attending pupils are varied, but may include:

  • Behavioural difficulties
  • Anti-social and disengaged behaviour
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH)
  • ADHD
  • Autism (ASC)

The Role:

  • You will be working in a classroom setting supporting teachers and fellow Teaching Assistants with pupils on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis.
  • The role will operate between 8:30 - 15:00, Monday - Friday, with occasional after school training until 16:00.
  • This is a full time position. 
  • There is opportunity for permanent employment with this position.
  • We are looking for candidates who can start ASAP.

The Candidate:

Ideal applicants should have previous professional experience working with complex behaviour or challenging needs. We find candidates with experience in the following positions, succeed in this role:

  • Psychology
  • Youth/Community work experience
  • Care worker
  • Challenging behaviour within family
  • Mentoring 
  • SEN Experience
  • Police/Army experience

Applicants will be working in a classroom setting so should have a passion for mentoring pupils closely through their differentiated curriculum.

Teaching Personnel offer many development courses through our CPD Academy; such as Autism Awareness, Safeguarding and Team Teach to help support any successful candidates within this environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
