As a Behavior Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, empowering them to reach their full potential both academically and personally. Your responsibilities will include:

Providing one-on-one and group support to students to manage their behavior and emotions effectively.

Implementing tailored behavior management strategies in collaboration with teaching staff and external professionals.

Creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported.

Assisting with the development and delivery of individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the specific needs of students.

Collaborating closely with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student welfare and progress.

Supporting students in accessing learning activities both within and outside the classroom.

Requirements: Driving is Essential: Due to the nature of the role and the need to support students in various settings, including off-site activities and home visits, a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are essential.

Relevant Experience or Qualifications: Previous experience working with young people with SEMH needs or relevant qualifications in education, psychology, social work, or a related field would be advantageous.

Empathy and Resilience: Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with young people, coupled with resilience in managing challenging behaviors with patience and empathy.

Creativity and Flexibility: Ability to think creatively and adapt strategies to meet the diverse needs of students in a dynamic educational setting.

Commitment to Learning: A passion for continuous professional development and a willingness to learn and implement new approaches and techniques.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
