Behaviour Support Assistant

Primary Behaviour Support TA- Deane Bolton (BL3)

Teaching Personnel are currently working with an Ofsted graded ‘Outstanding’ Primary School in Bolton (BL3), to recruit a behaviour support teaching assistant. Your main duty will be to provide 121 and small group support, for children with challenging behaviour across KS2. This role is to start ASAP upon the schools re-opening fully and will run until the end of the academic year. The school have said they are looking to appoint the right candidate as soon as possible, so all applicants are urged to apply ASAP also.

The role:

• Support, engage and inspire learning on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Liaise with the SENCO and inclusion team to help support behaviour specifically with the pupil and potentially other pupils too.
• Must have worked within primary education/have transferable skills related to supporting pupils aged 5-11
• Be confident and able to adapt to support pupils within all subject areas
• Be able to build positive working relationships with pupils who display challenging behaviour and help them engage within lessons.
• Previous experience supporting pupils with special educational needs is advantageous but not essential
• Relevant qualifications such as TEAMTEACH and MAPPA training would be desirable but not essential

Community and Youth Workers along with sports coaches looking to transition into primary schools would be welcomed to apply as their transferrable skill sets have worked in school previously.

This school is easily accessible by public transport as it is situated on the outskirts of Bolton Town Centre. The school has on-site parking for those with their own transport.
