We are seeking a dedicated ASC Behavioural Support Assistant to join our vibrant team at a primary Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Altrincham (WA15). As an integral member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to students with ASC, empowering them to achieve their full potential and thrive in their learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students with ASC, implementing individualised behaviour support plans and EHCPs.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that promotes independence, confidence, and social interaction.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to develop and implement strategies to address the unique needs of each student.
  • Assist with the implementation of sensory integration activities and techniques to support students' sensory processing needs.
  • Monitor and record student progress, behaviour, and engagement, and provide feedback to the SENCO and other relevant team members.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with ASC or similar special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the holistic development of children with SEN.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs and challenges within a SEN school environment.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, psychology, or a related field would be advantageous.

Location: Altrincham (WA15)

Hours: Full-time, term-time only

Salary: Competitive, £80+ daily rate dependent on experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
