Are you looking for a rewarding and unique role where no two days are the same?

Do you have experience supporting children or adults with complex needs or behavioural challenges? If so, we would be delighted to hear from you.

The Role

A successful and oversubscribed primary school in Everton is seeking to appoint a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in Year 4 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The pupil requires significant support with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly in relation to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

You will work closely with teaching staff and senior leaders to deliver tailored support strategies. This will involve supporting the pupil both within the classroom and in alternative learning environments throughout the school. On occasion, you may also be asked to assist other pupils with additional needs.

Collaboration with the class teacher and the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) will be essential in identifying the pupil’s specific requirements, addressing barriers to learning, and monitoring both academic progress and personal development.

While prior experience working 1:1 with a pupil who has an EHCP is advantageous, we also welcome applications from individuals with experience supporting children or adults with complex or behavioural needs.

The School

Located in a well-connected part of Everton, this primary school fosters a strong sense of community, grounded in Christian values and a commitment to making a positive impact. Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, the school offers a vibrant and engaging curriculum, enriched by a wide variety of extracurricular opportunities, including wellbeing initiatives and after-school clubs.

The school prides itself on its inclusive and supportive atmosphere, where both pupils and staff are encouraged to thrive. As a larger-than-average primary school, it provides excellent opportunities for professional growth and long-term career development.
