Are you looking for a fulfilling and unique opportunity where no two days are ever the same?
Do you have experience working with children or adults with complex needs or behavioural challenges? If so, we would be delighted to hear from you.

The Role

A vibrant and oversubscribed primary school in Toxteth is seeking to appoint a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The pupil requires significant support for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly related to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

You will work closely with teaching staff and senior leaders to deliver tailored support strategies, both within the classroom and in alternative settings around the school. On occasion, you may also support other pupils with additional needs.

Collaboration with the class teacher and the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) will be vital in identifying the pupil’s specific needs, overcoming barriers to learning, and monitoring both academic and personal development.

While prior experience of working 1:1 with a pupil with an EHCP is advantageous, we welcome applications from individuals with relevant experience supporting children or adults with complex needs.

The School

Located in the well-connected area of Toxteth, the school is grounded in strong Christian values and committed to fostering positive change. Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, it offers a rich and engaging curriculum, complemented by a wide range of extracurricular activities, including wellbeing initiatives and after-school clubs.

The school prides itself on its inclusive, nurturing environment, where both pupils and staff are encouraged to thrive. As a larger-than-average primary, it offers excellent opportunities for professional development and long-term career progression.
