Teaching Personnel are working exclusively with a SEMH Provision in the New Forest that are currently looking for Support Staff to build their career working as Behaviour Mentor and/or Pastoral Leader. All of the current vacancies are full time, permanent and come with more responsibility compared to a usual Support Assistant role. The use of their outstanding facilities, Outdoor learning centre, Farm and Creative Arts Centre allows the school to work in a therapeutic manner to help their pupils achieve and develop. The school also structure differently to most schools, each class has a Pastoral Lead and Tutor who will stay with that particular class throughout the day to provide continuity for the hard to reach pupils. The Pastoral Lead will be in charge of the Behaviour and will create Behaviour Management plans and the tutor will be in charge of taking the pupils to their classes, where a core subject teacher will deliver the lesson and the Tutor will then work alongside the Class Teacher.
Most classes have a maximum of 4 pupils due to the pupils needs and the ideal candidate would feel confident working in small groups or on a 1:1 basis. The ideal candidate would have previous experience working with similar needs or be passionate about working in this type of school. Candidates that are suited for this type of school tend to have experience in some of the following:
