Behaviour Mentor - Mansfield

Teaching Personnel are working with a Primary School in Mansfield to recruit a Behaviour Mentor on a full time basis. The primary school are looking for a resilient, patient and assertive behaviour mentor to work 1:1 with and support a vulnerable young pupil in KS2. The pupil is currently struggling with their social and emotional mental health, and can be known to be disruptive within the school, affecting the learning progress of other students.

As the pupil’s behaviour mentor you will be responsible for creating a positive learning environment for the student, providing both emotional and educational support for the student. The right candidate must be able to develop rapport with the individual, in order to gain a better understanding and to allow the pupil to open up, ensuring that they feel as though they are being listened to and understood, instilling confidence within them.

Ideally for this role, you will have a teaching assistant qualification however this is not mandatory and we welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds including social and youth work. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced special needs teachers as well as specialist teaching assistants. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
