Behaviour mentor

- Salary from - GBP285-GBP300 a week
This role will be starting in May 2020, supporting a number of children with EHCP’s on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. This role will carry on until the end of the academic year with a possibility of going onto a permanent school contract.
The Head teacher expects the successful candidate to build trust with the pupil and use a firm but fair approach and implement boundaries for the child to work within. Having a pro-active and energetic approach to learning will be essential to excelling in this role.
The Behaviour Mentor will be expected to support pupils in the class room. They will also be expected to lead 1:1 and small group interventions outside the class to raise academic attainment and improve social skills. The candidate will be working in a large Bolton school and will liaise with the SENCO, inclusion Manager and teachers to record progression and identify any other gaps in the pupil’s education.
- Experience working with challenging behaviour is desirable
- Supporting students inside the classroom and in the Learning Resource Centre
- Access a range of CPD courses to bolster professional learning and development
This is a large primary school and the number of pupils with special educational needs is above the national average. The school has a strong leadership team and will be able to support to right candidate with CPD courses for their own personal development.
