Job description

Teaching Personnel is seeking confident, reliable, and adaptable Cover Supervisors to work across a variety of secondary schools throughout South Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, or individuals with strong classroom management skills looking to gain valuable school-based experience.

We work with schools across the region, providing high-quality staff to support their day-to-day and long-term cover needs.


The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Deliver pre-set lesson plans in the absence of the classroom teacher

  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies

  • Ensure students remain on task and complete assigned work

  • Provide a positive and productive learning environment

  • Report back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour

This role does not require planning or marking but does require confidence leading a classroom independently.


We Are Looking For Candidates Who:

  • Have experience working with young people (education, coaching, youth work, tutoring, etc.)

  • Possess strong behaviour management and communication skills

  • Are adaptable, proactive, and professional

  • Hold a degree (preferred but not essential)

  • Have (or are willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS on the update service

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
