Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: South Yorkshire (various secondary schools)

About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is seeking reliable and confident Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in South Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain classroom experience, whether you are considering a career in teaching or seeking flexible work within education.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teachers. You will ensure students remain on task with the work set and maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials to students in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Support students in completing assigned tasks
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment at all times

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence in managing groups of students aged 11–16
  • Previous experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)
  • A proactive and adaptable approach
  • A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
