About the Role:
Teaching Personnel is currently seeking confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with relevant experience and qualifications who are looking to gain further experience in education or secure flexible or long-term work.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set lessons in the absence of the classroom teacher, ensuring students remain on task and maintain a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise whole classes during teacher absences using pre-prepared lesson materials
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Ensure students remain engaged and complete set work
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on lesson progress and student behaviour
• Support students where necessary and promote a positive learning atmosphere
• Work across a variety of subjects and school settings

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting (essential)
• Relevant qualifications (e.g. degree, HLTA, or equivalent – essential)
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Confidence delivering lessons to groups of students
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
