Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools

Location: Sheffield
Company: Teaching Personnel
Pay: £90–£120 per day (dependent on experience)

Teaching Personnel are recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Sheffield. This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or individuals with experience working with young people who want to gain valuable classroom experience.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise lessons during teacher absence and ensure pupils remain engaged with the work set by the school while maintaining a positive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities include: supervising classes, delivering pre-set lesson materials, managing behaviour in line with school policies, supporting students to stay on task, and reporting back to teaching staff after lessons. No teaching qualification is required, but confidence managing groups of students is important.

We are looking for candidates who: hold a UK-recognised degree or have relevant experience working with young people, communicate confidently with secondary-aged students, demonstrate strong organisation and reliability, and have a genuine interest in working within education. Experience in tutoring, coaching, youth work, or mentoring is beneficial but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
