Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Teaching Personnel is working closely with a Church of England secondary school in the heart of the historic city of Bath. The school is needing a Behaviour Mentor or Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with SEMH (Social Emotional and Mental Health). This is a full-time role to start ASAP!

The School

Previously this school has been known for its tight knit community feel and smaller class sizes but since its recent popularity, for the first time in many years it has a full Year 7!

This Church of England School is based in a very typical Bath area with houses built of the local sandstone and a view of countryside from every direction! I visit this school on a regular basis and I am always made to feel so welcome like I am part of the family. Working at Teaching Personnel for seven years and going to so many schools,, I'd like to think I have a good eye for a good school and this is definitely one of them. Plus, OFSTED has rated it GOOD too!

We are looking for...

Ideally you will need to have secondary school experience but if not, working with children or adults with challenging behaviour is essential! You will need UK experience but qualifications in SEN is not essential.

For this role it is paramount that you establish boundaries, you are patient and most of all confident in dealing with challenging and disruptive behaviour. Above all you need to be resilient as there are no quick fixes and progress can be difficult and frustrating at times.

What's in it for you

  • One of the most rewarding roles working with the most vulnerable pupils
  • Working in beautiful surroundings in one of the prettiest cities in the UK
  • Competitive pay: £54 to £65 a day
  • School hours: no weekends and the general finish time is 3:30
  • A fantastic opportunity to start a career in education with training and support provided

If this is for you, please contact me immediately to register your interest. I look forward to hearing from you
