Are you an experienced Behaviour Mentor or perhaps a recent graduate looking for experience as a Teaching Assistant?

Maybe you are an exceptional graduate with the confidence to work in a 1:1 Behaviour Mentor post with a challenging student?

If so, this 1:1 Behaviour Mentor will see you working with a year 9 student with an EHCP (Educational Health Care Plan) for the rest of the academic year!

  • Graduate Behaviour Mentor post available immediately within a unique alternative provision that caters for secondary students 11 - 16 years
  • Earn up to £325 per week dependent on Behaviour Mentor experience
  • Long term post lasting the entire academic year
  • Possibility of a permanent contract for the successful applicant
  • Perfect experience before entering further Education
  • Training and CPD on offer for the Behaviour Mentor
  • Behaviour Mentor to work 1:1 with a year 9 student

As a Behaviour Mentor you will begin to gain trust and understand what triggers a student in year 9. You will be working with the Head of Centre, the school SENCo, class teacher and parents to the student to help with the students progress. The successful Behaviour Mentor will also be liaising with outside agencies to make sure that as much support is being given to the student.

A Behaviour Mentor is a tailored intervention role that benefits the mainstream and Special Educational Needs schools we work with. It has been designed to help pupils with behavioural problems to reach their full potential. As a Behaviour Mentor, your role will be helping challenging students overcome their behavioural issues, whilst acting as a role model and someone to look up to. If you have the experience, skills and the ability to think on your feet and stay calm whilst dealing with challenging situations, you would be very well suited to this Behaviour Mentor role.

We are looking for a Behaviour Mentor who has achieved a 2:1 classification at the very least in their degree and now looking to pursue a career in education. The successful candidate for this Behaviour Mentor position will have experience working with young people and/or challenging behaviour. Experience in the following would certainly benefit your application: Youth Work, Sports coaching or Ex-Military.
