Make a real impact to lives of children diagnosed with physical disabilities and complex needs!

I work closely with a special need school for primary aged children based in Greenford, Ealing. They regularly require experienced special needs support staff to work for them in their complex needs department on an ad-hoc or bank staff basis. They seek staff up and ready between 7-7:30 am for work staring at 8:30am in the case that they have to cover cases of planned absence, sickness, and staff training.

The school is purpose built for children diagnosed with autism across the spectrum, sensory, complex medical needs and dual diagnosis. The school has a range of state-of-the art facilities used regularly by pupils such as a hydrotherapy pool, therapy rooms, sensory and soft play rooms, indoor hoisting and manual or moving and handling facilities.

If you already have experience of working with physical disabilities and complex needs within school, care environments or nurseries we would love to hear from you! However, this type of role is also suitable for pro-active graduates and care assistants looking to gain experience supporting children as a teaching assistant!

You will be required to support children with feeding, toileting support and moving and (manual) handling as most children will need support with daily care. You will work in small classes with up to 6 pupils with similar needs through interactive activities and work cooperatively with the class teacher and up to 3 experienced special needs teaching assistants.

Role:

  • Hours - 8:30am to 4:00pm for 3 days minimally between Monday to Friday
  • Location - local to Greenford and Sudbury Hill in Ealing
  • Responsibilities - 1:1 and 2:1 social and developmental support of children with physical disabilities and complex needs
  • Additional responsibilities - personal care/toilet training support, feeding and moving and handling
