Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role where you can positively impact the lives of young people?

We are recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in Newport. This is an excellent opportunity to support pupils with a variety of Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and help them develop confidence, independence and essential life skills in a safe and supportive environment.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored learning and emotional support to pupils aged 3-19. You will play a vital role in helping learners overcome barriers to education and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with a range of Additional Learning Needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), and physical disabilities.
• Deliver one-to-one and small-group support tailored to individual learning plans.
• Assist teachers in creating engaging, inclusive and accessible learning experiences.
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence and social development.
• Provide emotional support and build strong, trusting relationships with students.
• Contribute to a positive, safe and nurturing school environment.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience working within an SEN or ALN setting.
• Enhanced Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC), or willingness to register.
• Ability to provide professional references upon request.
