Autism specialist required for a York Primary School

A primary school in York are currently hoping to secure a Teaching Assistant who has extensive experience working with pupils with Autism. Across the school, there are numerous pupils in both KS1 and KS2 who require additional support. Your role will be to track, monitor and plan effective intervention strategies to help engaged the pupils in their learning.

You will be mainly working on a one to one basis with a pupil in Year 4, who has highly challenging behaviour and requires a calm and patient individual to provide additional support on a part-time basis (every week day morning).

This small, village school, which has been graded 'Good' in its most recent Ofsted inspection, prides itself on its encouragement of creative learning. With a supportive team, you will be encouraged to communicate with the class teachers, head teacher and SENDCO in order to track progress and create new ideas.
