Attendance Manager

We are looking to appoint a highly organised and motivated Attendance Manager to join our supportive secondary school in Heywood. This is a key role within our pastoral team, ensuring that every student has the best opportunity to succeed through excellent school attendance.

The Role:

• Lead on the monitoring and management of student attendance and punctuality.

• Work closely with students, families, and staff to promote the importance of good attendance.

• Analyse attendance data and prepare reports for senior leaders and governors.

• Implement strategies and interventions to improve persistent absence.

• Liaise with external agencies where required to support attendance.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience in an education or pastoral setting (attendance/welfare experience desirable).

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and parents.

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

• Confident in using school management information systems (SIMS/Arbor or similar) and MS Office.

• A proactive, resilient, and solution-focused approach.
