Behaviour Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive secondary school in Rochdale. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young people by supporting positive behaviour, engagement, and wellbeing.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with young people with behavioural or SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs.

• A calm, patient, and resilient approach to supporting challenging behaviour.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work as part of a team and use initiative when required.

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.

The Role:

• Support students with behavioural, emotional, and social needs, both in class and in small groups.

• Work alongside teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

• Implement behaviour support strategies and individual plans.

• Build strong relationships with students to encourage progress and personal development.

• Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies where appropriate.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
