Assistant Subject Leader for Science
Full or part time and permanent. MPS/UPS + TLR (£6645)
September 2019 (earlier start considered)
Teaching Personnel has a recruitment partnership with a Portsmouth based school that are looking to appoint an Assistant Subject Leader for Science for September 2019, however could consider an earlier start. The school has a well resourced Science department with an experienced team of practitioners including three supportive technicians. The school allocates a generous budget for the sciences to ensure the very best provision to teaching and learning. The role would be well suited to someone who wants to take their first step into management or someone who is looking to work in a bigger school. All staff are given the opportunity to teach across all year groups and specialist areas.
As an assistant leader, you will support the Director of Learning (DOL) and the Subject Leader, assist with the leadership and management of a department and determine the appropriate curricula for Science. You will be expected to contribute towards inset days and ensure that staff are working collaboratively, sharing resources and best practice. You will be expected to teach 40/50 lessons per fortnight.
Early applications are encouraged. The advert will remain live until the most suitable candidate is appointed in the role.
