ASD Teaching Assistant, Chorley
- Full-time Teaching Assistant position
- 08:45 – 15:45, Mon-Fri
- Providing one-to-one support to a child in Year 5 with ASD – experience necessary
- Level 2 qualification minimum
A new opportunity has arisen in a Chorley-based primary school for a Level 2 Specialist Support Assistant experienced in supporting individuals with Autism.
You will be appointed on a full-time, temporary basis (with the potential of a permanent contract after a successful period of probation). The position is to provide one-to-one support to a child in Year 5, starting from 6th September 2021.
The SENCo has specified that the successful candidate will have a minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) and recent experience of working alongside individuals with ASD. This must include utilisation of the PECS resource.
The school is a smallerthan average-sized primary school located in Chorley. The proportion of disadvantaged pupils is in-line with the national average, as is the proportion of pupils who have special educational needs and or/ disabilities.
Pupils with SEN are well supported and make good progress. Good relationships between staff and have pupils ensures good behaviour across the school. Pupils are eager to learn.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
