About the Role

We are currently recruiting for flexible and reliable Behaviour Support Assistants to work on a day-to-day supply basis in schools across Skelmersdale.

This role is ideal for individuals looking for flexible work, whether you are building experience in education or seeking a better work-life balance. You will provide support to pupils with behavioural, social, and emotional needs across a variety of school settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support on a 1:1 basis or in small groups as required
• Assist with managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Support pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs
• Respond confidently to changing school environments and daily assignments
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
• Quickly build rapport with pupils and staff
• Follow guidance from teaching staff and adapt to different classroom settings

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience working with children or young people is desirable
• Confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
• Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working in different schools
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to think on your feet and respond to situations effectively
• Passionate about supporting young people and education
• Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. Team Teach, CACHE) are beneficial but not essential
