Behaviour Support Assistant (Day-to-Day Supply)

About the Role
We are currently recruiting for flexible and reliable Behaviour Support Assistants to work on a day-to-day supply basis in schools across Skelmersdale.
This role is ideal for individuals looking for flexible work, whether you are building experience in education or seeking a better work-life balance. You will provide support to pupils with behavioural, social, and emotional needs across a variety of school settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support on a 1:1 basis or in small groups as required
- Assist with managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Support pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs
- Respond confidently to changing school environments and daily assignments
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment
- Quickly build rapport with pupils and staff
- Follow guidance from teaching staff and adapt to different classroom settings
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner
- Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working in different schools
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to think on your feet and respond to situations effectively
- Passionate about supporting young people and education
- Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. Team Teach, CACHE) are beneficial but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
