ASC Teaching Assistant

Are you available full time for a role in a Preston School? 

A Head Teacher at a Preston based School is seeking a Teaching Assistant to work specifically with pupils who have Autism. To be considered for this role you must have experience and / or an understanding of working with children who have ASC. The pupils may from time to time display challenging behaviours and candidates with a calm, empathetic, de-escalation approach will be favoured for this role. Ideally, candidates will hold their Team Teach qualification but this is not essential at this stage. The School is smaller than average, catering for pupils with Autism predominantly but also, learning difficulties, physical disabilities and ADHD. The class sizes are generally under 8 pupils per class and some personal care might be required. 

The role is full time and candidates will be expected to work from 8.45am - 3.30pm Monday - Friday. The role would suit a candidate with an empathetic yet resilient nature, a can do attitude, a good sickness record and a strong personality. Candidates from backgrounds such as; Care, Education, Youth Work, Summer Camp and those with first hand experience will be considered. 

The pay for this role will be between GBP60 - 70 per day and candidates must be available full time in order to apply for this role.
