Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Due to a restructuring in our client schools support department, there is an upcoming requirement for a specialised ASC teaching assistant to join them in September, and to work specifically with ASC students during their time being education in secondary school.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner to join our client school at an exciting time as they begin expanding their support department and move to a purpose built facility in the school. This post is also suitable for a Psychology graduate with a sound knowledge of Autism looking to secure a position working in a secondary school.

* Full time ASC teaching assistant required at Manchester secondary school

* Earn £55 to £75 per day, dependant on experience

* Facilitating development socially and academically for students with Autism

* Work with students on a 1:1 and small group basis throughout

* Ofsted graded Good secondary school, outstanding provisions for learning

* Located a short journey from Manchester city centre, easily accessible via public transport

Our client school at its last inspection in 2017, received a "Good" grading by Ofsted with "Outstanding" features. The school has shown steady improvements over the last number of years, and has achieved a place in The Top 100 Most Improved Schools in the country due to their GCSE results. The driving force behind the improvements is the Principal, who encouraged a climate for learning and ensures all his senior management team are directly impacting their lines in terms of teaching and learning, along with behaviour and safety. The school has excellent provisions in place for students to develop socially, emotionally and academically and students behaviour reflects how well they feel looked after at school. The school has recently been commended for the excellent work in supporting the learning of students with additional needs.

Whilst working as an ASC teaching assistant in our client school, you will be responsible for supporting identified students individually, enabling them to access the curriculum and gain confidence in a school setting. You will work with a range of students across 11-16, and will receive specialist professional development courses throughout to give you the necessary tools to support the students.

If you would like to be considered for this position as an ASC teaching assistant at our client school, then please apply via the link provided or contact Miles at Manchester North Secondary directly.
