Teaching Personnel are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Conditions. You will be working in a specialist school which offers education to young people between 3 and 19 years. The provision is for pupils who have Speech, Language and Communication Needs and Autism Spectrum Conditions. Situated on the outskirts of Leeds City Centre with good public transport links, the school has devoted and dedicated passionate Teachers and classroom support staff and works very closely with colleagues from the therapy and school nursing service.
The school has close working partnerships with The National Autistic Society and are looking for someone with the passion and commitment to support children with autism (ASC) to access the curriculum in a long term role.
We are particularly looking for teaching assistants who have an interest in Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and are keen to work with pupils with ASC within a specialist setting.
Experience in a school is desired but not essential as we also look for experience in areas such as social care and youth work. Particular personal or professional experience of supporting individuals with Autism is highly desirable as is an understanding of the complexities related to the behaviour in this condition.
Teaching Personnel are committed the safeguarding and well-being of children. All candidates applying to posts through Teaching Personnel must undertake or have undertaken an enhance DBS Check (AGY)
