Specialist Autism Coach - September 2017 - Oldham

An outstanding Multi Academy trust are looking to appoint a specialist Autism Coach to start from September 2017. The position will require the coach to support other practitioners, qualified and unqualified, with their knowledge of Autism Spectrum Condition. The role will include supporting within the ASC bases across all 4 sites, as well as working collaboratively with the provision director in regards to pupil assessments and EHC plans.

The trust runs across 4 sites based in Oldham. Sites cater for individuals between 4 - 19 with a Statement of SEN or an EHCP, on the autistic spectrum and/or have significant communication and interaction difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

The Trustees would like to invite applications from energetic and highly motivated teachers with specialist knowledge of SEN and autism, ideally with experience of leadership and management. The role is to lead the discrete Autism Bases across three sites with a coaching approach, to develop an effective and knowledgeable team with the necessary expertise to ensure that all young people in this provision achieve an aspirational destination. The successful candidate will be an excellent and committed practitioner who relishes opportunities to professionally develop themselves and others, reflecting on their own practice.

This role requires an experienced and knowledgeable who is willing to lead and manage staff. Previous experience within a teaching role will be beneficial to assist with other practitioners planning. QTS is desirable, however not essential.

The trust will be looking to appoint an Autism Specialist from September 2017 on a permanent basis.
