Apprentice Teaching Assistant

Location: Huyton, L36

Contract: Temporary

Hours: Full Time

Start Date: November 2025

Pay Rate: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)

 

A friendly and inclusive primary school in Huyton is seeking a motivated Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time from November. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in education, gain hands-on experience in a classroom setting, and work towards a nationally recognised qualification.

You will support teaching staff in delivering engaging lessons, assist pupils with their learning, and contribute to the overall positive atmosphere of the school. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with children and eager to learn.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support pupils in their learning across a range of subjects
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom management
  • Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Work with small groups or individual pupils to reinforce learning
  • Contribute to the school’s ethos and values
  • Undertake training and assessments as part of the apprenticeship programme

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A genuine interest in working with children and supporting their education
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced staff
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • GCSEs in English and Maths
