Job Advert: Alternative Provision Support – Chorley

Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning? We are seeking dedicated and resilient individuals to join our team as Alternative Provision Support Workers in Chorley.

Due to the ever-growing demand for pupil support, we are offering flexible contracts to suit your availability while making a real difference to the lives of children and young people.

The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils who require additional guidance outside of mainstream education.

  • Build positive, trusting relationships to encourage engagement and progress.

  • Support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs, using de-escalation and restorative approaches.

  • Promote independence, resilience and wellbeing in line with each pupil’s individual needs.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting young people, ideally within SEN, SEMH, youth work or alternative provision.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with patience, empathy and resilience.

  • Confidence in managing behaviour positively and encouraging pupils to re-engage with their learning.

  • Flexibility and reliability to adapt to the needs of pupils and schools.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
