Job description

Job Title: Educational Healthcare Assistant

Skelmersdale, Lancashire

Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Assist in the care and support of students with healthcare needs in an educational setting
  • Administer medication and provide medical assistance as required
  • Monitor and record students' health and well-being, reporting any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals
  • Support students with physical disabilities or medical conditions in their daily activities
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care for students

Required Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, Education or equivalent qualification
  • Enhanced DBS check

Education:

  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a healthcare or educational setting
  • Experience administering medication and providing medical support

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of medical conditions and disabilities that may affect students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in dealing with specific medical conditions
  • Experience working with children and young people

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position based in an educational setting
  • May require some evening or weekend work for school events or emergencies
  • Physical demands may include lifting and assisting students with mobility needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
