Job Title: Day-to-Day Learning Support Assistant – SEN Schools (Skelmersdale)

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and looking for flexible work that suits your lifestyle? We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to provide day-to-day cover across SEN schools in the Skelmersdale area.

Role Overview:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with a range of needs, including autism, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH), and complex learning difficulties. Your role will involve adapting to different school environments, building positive relationships with pupils, and ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive in their learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN.

  • Assist teachers with classroom activities and behaviour management.

  • Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

  • Adapt to different school settings on a flexible, day-to-day basis.

  • Promote positive behaviour and social development.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an SEN setting (paid or voluntary).

  • Confidence, patience, and strong communication skills.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments.

  • A DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
