Support Assistant – Secondary Alternative Provision
West Yorkshire
£85–£105 per day
Full-time, term time only

We’re looking for reliable and professional Support Assistants to provide Alternative Provision in secondary settings across West Yorkshire. These roles involve supporting pupils aged 11–16 who may be facing challenges with mainstream education due to a range of social, emotional, or behavioural needs.

You’ll be part of a small, focused team helping students stay engaged with their learning, develop confidence and build positive routines in a more tailored environment.

The role involves:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support inside and outside of lessons

  • Helping pupils to focus, stay on task and complete work set by teachers

  • Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation where needed

  • Building working relationships with pupils over time

  • Communicating clearly and calmly with staff and students

  • Contributing to a positive and consistent learning environment

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience working with young people in education, care or youth settings

  • A calm, confident approach to managing behaviour and building rapport

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

  • Flexibility, reliability and a professional attitude

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
