Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated ALN Classroom Support Assistant to provide 1:1 and general classroom support to pupils aged 3–19 within a warm and inclusive Specialist School in Penarth.
The school supports children with a range of complex needs, including autism and communication difficulties, and prides itself on its supportive and nurturing environment.
This is a fantastic setting with excellent facilities and a staff team that truly embraces a “can do” attitude. Every child is treated as an individual, ensuring their educational and therapeutic needs are met so they can flourish — both within school and beyond.

What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience supporting children or individuals with SEN
- Be aged 18 or over
- A background in care, support work, or supporting individuals with SEN would be needed for this role.
- Bring a positive, proactive, and compassionate mindset with a genuine passion for helping young people thrive
- Have strong behaviour‑management skills, including the ability to implement and de‑escalate strategies effectively
- Be confident in delivering tailored learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher and ALNCO
• A commitment to boosting pupil engagement, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
✅Requirements
Must be willing to obtain (at your own cost) or already hold the following. Teaching Personnel can provide guidance to help you obtain:
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
- An Enhanced Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service
- Level 2 Safeguarding training
- At least two professional references covering 24 months

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
